The upcoming Disney Pixar Cars 3 movie is shaping up as a more mature and interesting take on the franchise than the previous installment – judging by the mysteries soaring from the latest trailer.
The first teaser trailer for Cars 3 was quite dramatic – with reports of kids suffering breakdowns near crazed parents who didn’t know how to explain what was going on, well because no one really knows except for the creators. Now there’s an extended trailer but this one again makes us post more questions than count answers. Fortunately this time around we’re getting a lighter installment than what looked like a possible career-ending wreck. And we also know the introduction of Jackson Storm as a “villain” is sparking a new rivalry between the high-tech up-and-coming racer, and the – now legendary – Lightning McQueen.
Using the voice of Armie Hammer, Storm is a 2017 custom-built “Next-gen” Piston Cup racer, and according to director Brian Fee it can pack 850 horsepower (633 kilowatts) and a maximum speed of 214 miles per hour (344 kilometers per hour). The movie promises some “emotions” because it seems McQueen is getting a forced retirement from the new generation of Piston Cup racers. There are also some solutions – possibly in the form of Cruz Ramirez – a 2017 CRS Sports Coupe voiced by Cristela Alonzo who might help him get back on its “wheels”.
