The British based automaker Lotus has recently announced its plans to introduce a Roadster version of the Exige S, which should make its way onto the market this summer.
After being officially presented to the public during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Lotus Exige S Roadster is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with an announcement made by the company. According to the car manufacturer, the Lotus Exige S Roadster will receive a final production version, and this should make its way onto the market this summer. The model is highlighted in the newest video released by the company.
The new Lotus Exige S Roadster is expected to get a 3.5 liter supercharged V6 engine under its hood, which should be good for 345 HP (257 kW) and 400 Nm of torque (295 lb-ft), mated to a six-speed manual or an optional Series Precision Shift (SPS) transmission. The manual version of the Lotus Exige S Roadster will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 233 km/h (145 mph). The model will burn an average of 10.1 L / 100 km (28 mpg UK / 23.3 mpg US).
