Lotus has recently announced its plans to introduce the Roadster version of the Exige S this summer, in its final production form.
The British based automaker Lotus will officially unveil the Exige S Roadster later on this year, in its final production version, after the model has been officially presented to the public back in 2012, during the Geneva Motor Show. The model will enter production this summer and it should make its way onto the market by the end of the year and, in order to announce the Lotus Exige S Roadster, the company has released a video with it.
The Lotus Exige S Roadster will receive the 3.5 liter supercharged V6 engine, which will produce a total output of 345 HP (257 kW) and it will have a peak torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). The unit will be mated to a six-speed manual or to an optional SPS (Series Precision Shift) transmission. When equipped with the manual gearbox, the Exige S Roadster will be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 233 km/h (145 mph). The average fuel consumption will stand at 10.1 L / 100 km (28 mpg UK / 23.3 mpg US).
