[VIDEO] Maserati head of design explains the Ghibli image

Maserati has recently released a new video with the Ghibli, where the company’s head of design, Marco Tencone, is talking about the model.

After it was officially unveiled just earlier this year, the newest Maserati model, the Ghibli, is ending up in our news once again, this time with the help of a new video, which is showing Marco Tencone, the company’s head of design, telling its story. The new Maserati Ghibli is the first car ever wearing the “trident” badge on its body to receive a diesel engine. The unit is a 3.0 liter V6 which is producing a total output of 275 HP (202 kW) and 600 Nm of torque (443 lb-ft).

Besides the diesel engine, Maserati is also offering a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 petrol unit, which is good for 330 HP (243 kW) and 500 Nm of torque (369 lb-ft). The top of the line version, the so-called Ghibli S, will receive 410 HP (301 kW) and 550 Nm of torque (405 lb-ft), from the same unit. This will be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 285 km/h (177 mph). All units will be mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The Ghibli will receive an all-wheel drive system in all European markets, except the UK.
