A McLaren 650S Spider and a Ferrari 458 Spider have went against each other in an impressive drag race on a highway, proving once and for all which one is faster.
Two impressive drop-top supercars, the Ferrari 458 Spider and the McLaren 650S Spider have been drag racing and if you are a car guy, it won’t be hard to figure it out which one is faster. Remember that we are talking about the 458 and not its replacement, the 488, which has been significantly improved. We won’t be spoilers and tell you about the winner, because you have to see for yourselves.
The McLaren 650S is being produced in Woking, Surrey, England. It has been designed by Frank Stephenson shown at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The replacement of the MP4-12C is offered in two body styles, coupe and roadster, both sharing the same rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. The 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine found under its hood is producing 641 HP (478 kW) and 680 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque, claiming a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 3 seconds and a top speed of 333 km/h (207 mph).
The Ferrari 458 on the other hand has left production this year. This debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor and it has the same rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. A 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine is found under its hood, with 562 HP (419 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque, allowing a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 3 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h (210 mph).
