We’re not talking about a run that spans thousands of units but it’s nevertheless an impressive achievement for an exotic sports car manufacturer – McLaren has recently announced the newly introduced 675LT Spider has been completely sold out.
It appears having a convertible is all the rage during the winter months since the 675LT in the Spider version has been completely booked across its entire 500-unit production run. By the way, it was revealed less than a month ago and has not even reached any of its intended customers – since the first deliveries have been scheduled for next summer – when the season will be ripe to go top down. As a reminder, the 675 LT Spider comes with bolder looks thanks to the bigger front splitter, new side skirts as well as the 50 percent bigger active Longtail airbrake compared to the other Super Series models. The retractable folding hardtop is matched by a titanium dual exhaust system and the exterior design elements are rounded up by the bespoke 19- / 20-inch ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels using special Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires. The interior sports lightweight carbon fiber-shelled racing seats and is left barren of the air conditioning system (which can be added back free of charge).
The motivation is provided by the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine which comes with 666 bhp (675 PS / 496 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque – making the convertible sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds on its way to the maximum speed of 203 mph (326 km/h). By the way, we also have another short look at the model, with the guy sitting behind the wheel being Bruno Senna.
