McLaren has recently announced it has just started manufacturing of the 675 Long Tail model by releasing a cool promotional video depicting the supercar during its thing – hit the race track.
The model received a long tail body update that reminds us of the 1997 F1 GTR Long Tail and was unveiled back in March during the Swiss Geneva Motor Show. It is the most powerful reincarnation of the company’s Super Series and has already been sold out – even as production at the Woking-based company is only now starting. The 500-unit 675 LT production start has been celebrated through the release of some 4k footage, namely the supercar in its element on the Castellolí track in Spain – allowing us to have a glimpse of what those lucky 500 owners will get to experience.
As a reminder, the 675 LT has topped the Super Series range above the 650 S Coupe, coming with an updated twin-turbo V8 3.8-liter engine that has around 50 percent of the parts swapped for new ones and unleashing 675 HP & 700 Nm, which is 25 HP & 22 Nm more than what the 650 S Coupe can deliver. It’s also 100 kg lighter and the power increase, weight decrease combo has allowed a 0- 62 mph sprint that is 0,1 seconds faster at 2.9 seconds. The 0-124 mph (200 km/h) time is half a second faster at 7.9 seconds and the top speed has been oddly decreased to 205 mph (330 km/h). The model has been priced at £259,500 in the UK ($349,500 in US).
