[VIDEO] McLaren MP4-12C goes for quarter mile, becomes 2nd fastest production car image

A stock McLaren MP4-12C has recently went for a drag race, managing to do the quarter mile in just 10,55 seconds at a top speed of 216.55 km/h (134.56 mph).

The McLaren MP4-12C may not have that “poster” look of the Lamborghini Aventador but let’s not forget the company’s racing pedigree and the fact that it gave us the iconic F1. The MP4-12C is faster than the Lamborghini Aventador after the British supercar managed to do a quarter mile race finishing in 10,55 seconds at a top speed of 216.55 km/h (134.56 mph). The MP4-12C is now the second fastest production car in the world after the Bugatti Veyron.

As a reminder, the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C is powered by a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 engine which is producing a total output of 592 horsepower at 7.000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 443 lb-ft available between 3.000 and 7.000 rpm. The engine is allowing the British supercar to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 205 mph. The Corsa tire option cuts down 0.2 seconds from the 0 to 62 mph acceleration time and the supercar can do a quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 134 mph.
