A Ferrari 458 Italia and a McLaren MP4-12C have been recently pinned together in a small drag race.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is definitely one of the hottest rear mid-engined supercars money can buy on the market, these days, but let’s not forget that the McLaren MP4-12C is the model’s direct competitor and the British supercar has a long racing pedigree. But what happens when you put the two supercars one against each other? Well, for start, you have a lot of fun, but which one is faster? To answer that question, you can check out the video posted below.
As a quick reminder, the Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a 4.5 liter V8 engine, shared with Maserati, which is producing a total output of 562 HP at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque available at 6,000 rpm, out of which 80 percent is coming in from 3,250 rpm. The unit is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The McLaren MP4-12C is getting a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, which is good for 592 HP at 7,000 rpm, with a peak torque of 600 Nm, available between 3,000 and 7,000 rpm.
