The McLaren P1 has apparently lapped the Nurburgring in just 6 minutes and 47 seconds, a huge achievement for the British brand.
We already know that the McLaren P1 has been taken on the Nurburgring to try a fast lap back in September but the British based automaker didn’t confirm its lap time of 7:04 then and now we understand why. According to a YouTube user, who has posted the video with the P1 in action on the Ring, the hybrid supercar has managed to complete a lap in just 6 minutes and 47 seconds.
The time will make it the fastest vehicle ever to lap the track, shattering the previous record held by the Radical SR8 LM. What is mostly important is that if this turns out to be true, the bosses at Porsche will not be very happy as their competitor, the 918 Spyder, completed the lap in 6 minutes and 57 seconds. The Ferrari LaFerrari will have a tough job of beating its main rivals on the Nurburgring. You can check out the P1 in its attempt on the Ring right after the jump and you can see the 918 Spyder’s lap time here.
