A new video with the McLaren P1 smiling from its United Arab Emirates unveil has recently hit the web and it’s showing what might be the production ready version of the hypercar.
The McLaren P1 is close to becoming the hottest thing ever produced by the brand, after the iconic F1, and the model will be a direct rival for the Ferrari F150 and for the Porsche 918 Spyder. The McLaren P1 has been unveiled back in 2012 as a concept and, since then, the model has received an interior design and it was presented in the most important markets across the globe. The McLaren P1 will make its public debut, in final production form, in Geneva, next month.
The McLaren P1 will be powered by a revised version of the M838T engine used on the MP4-12C and 12C Spyder, which will produce 727 BHP, helped by an electric motor mounted on the petrol unit, which is providing an extra 176 BHP. The peak torque stands at 664 lb-ft, available at 4,000 rpm, with 531 lb-ft coming from the petrol burner and 192 lb-ft from the electric engine. Power will be sent to the rear-wheel drive and the supercar will also be able to run on electric power alone for approximately 6 miles, thanks to its 96 kg battery pack.
