The guys at Motor Trend have recently taken a trip to the Old Continent as they have reviewed one of the hottest supercars out there, the McLaren P1, on the Top Gear Test Track.
McLaren may have introduced the new P1 back in 2013, during the Geneva Motor Show, in its final production form, but its drive tests still continue to keep our headlines. The newest clip showing the P1 in action, on the track, is coming from Motor Trend, where the American automotive journalists have taken a trip to Europe in order to test the hybrid supercar on the Top Gear Test Track.
The McLaren P1 will only be produced in 375 units and the entire lineup has been sold out by November 2013. It’s using a 3.8 liter twin turbo petrol engine, similar to the one found on the MP4-12C and on the 650S, which is rated at 727 HP (542 kW) and 719 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque. The internal combustion unit is backed up by an in-house developed electric motor, generating 176 HP (131 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The total output stands at 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque. The P1 will go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and it will reach a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).
