The British based automaker McLaren has recently pulled the wraps off the P1 during a private event held in New York.
After it was officially presented to the public for the first time a few months ago during the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September, the McLaren P1 is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the British based automaker bringing it to the United States. The model in question is a concept and it’s previewing the successor of the iconic F1. Production of the model is expected to begin early next year and deliveries should start in the second half of 2013.
The McLaren P1 will be placed above the MP4-12C and the 12C Spyder in terms of both performance and price, but even so, the model will get the same engine as its brothers mentioned above, the 3.8 liter turbo, which should produce an extra 120 HP. The McLaren P1 will challenge the Bugatti Veyron in terms of top speed and the automaker is saying that this will be the fastest accelerating car in the world. The final production version of the P1 is expected to be unveiled in Geneva next year but if you have your eyes on one, you should hurry up and place a deposit, because only 500 units of the model are rumored to be produced.
