Porsche has released the very first details and images with the brand new 2013 911 GT3 Cup during the “Night of Champions” celebration held by the company.
After spy photographers have caught the 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup on camera over the last few months, the sports car is finally here and it’s getting ready to make its debut next year. The model is based on the upcoming 911 GT3 and it’s getting an evolutionary design with a rear wing, a front splitter, a new front bumper, carbon fiber canards, a center mounted dual exhaust system and a fresh set of racing wheels in single-piece wrapped in Michelin racing tires.
The cabin of the 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup has been fitted with a digital instrument cluster, a flat bottom steering wheel, a new racing seat, an improved roll cage and a “rescue hatch” on the roof which allows the driver to be extracted easier in case of a crash. Power to the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is being provided by a 3.8 liter flat six-cylinder engine, which has been upgraded in order to produce a total output of 460 HP (338 kW), 10 HP more than its predecessor. The unit is mated to a six-speed transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters. Prices for the model will start at 181,200, without VAT, and it will debut next year, during the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
