A new drag race is bringing the Mercedes-AMG GT and the McLaren 650S go head to head.
When you think about the McLaren 650S and its main rivals, the Mercedes-AMG GT is missing from the picture, that is because it’s less powerful, cheaper and smaller than the British supercar so the 540C would be considered to be a better competitor for it. If you are curious just how the two perform in a drag race, you have come to the right place, because the video posted below is revealing the awesome power of the 650S.
The Mercedes-AMG GT has a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood. In the range-topping version, the AMG GT S, this is rated at 503 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration takes 3.8 seconds and top speed stands at 310 km/h (190 mph). The AMG GT is the successor of the SLS AMG, despite being smaller, cheaper and less powerful. The McLaren 650S on the other hand has replaced the MP4-12C. This has a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, producing 641 HP (478 kW) and 680 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the British exotic vehicle needs just 3 seconds and it has a top speed of 333 km/h (207 mph).
