The recently unveiled Mercedes AMG GT3 has been spotted recently on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, where it was undergoing some new testing.
After being officially presented to the public during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, a month ago, the brand new Mercedes AMG GT3 is now being highlighted once again, this time with the help of a video. The clip, which has been posted below, is showing the new racer in action on the German Nurburgring track and we have to admit that this is pure pleasure, considering the fact that the only music offered is coming from underneath its body.
The Mercedes AMG GT3 has been designed to meet the FIA GT3 specifications and it is a racing car carrying an aggressive carbon fiber wide body kit, with modified side skirts, different front and rear bumpers, new rear diffuser, ventilated front fenders, new doors, a prominent rear wing and so on. Inside it we can find the digital instrument cluster, the carbon fiber trim, carbon fiber racing steering wheel and, of course, the steel roll cage, amongst others. As far as the engine goes, the AMG GT3 racer has a larger 6.3 liter V8 engine, which is basically an updated version of the unit used on the SLS AMG GT3. This is connected to a 6-speed sequential transmission but if you were hoping for some performance figures, you will be disappointed, because the carmaker hasn’t announced them.
