Mercedes-Benz, which has been updating its entire range of SUVs with new names – besides the usual new generation or facelift changelogs, appears to have started testing the refreshed GLA.
We have some spy footage depicting the mildly restyled GLA on prototype testing and we believe the model will be swiftly coming to the market the following year. As we can see from the video below, the GLA is not being treated to a proper facelift – judging by the minimal camouflage – as the model has been very successful and Mercedes wants to keep the changes to a minimum. With the body of the car almost entirely undisguised we can see the update will only affect the lighting clusters – both front and back. So the production version should come out pretty much unchanged – and we’re judging the GLA will receive about the same tweaks as it’s A-Class passenger car brethren go a few months back. Mercedes-Benz is preparing to update pretty much the entire compact range, as the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake will also receive the same minor tweaks down the line.
We’re pretty much sure the most important technical update will have to do with the switch from the extra bi-xenon option to full LED headlights, a move available across the entire range – from the GLA to the CLA Shooting Brake. Mercedes-Benz is also rumored to change bits and pieces in the cabin as well: galvanized switches and subtle tweaks to the instrument dials as well as the addition of an updated 8-inch infotainment system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
