Mercedes-Benz has released a new teaser video with the upcoming GLC, which will be officially unveiled in just a few hours.
The newest addition to the Mercedes-Benz lineup is called the GLC. The model is the official successor of the GLK and it will be taking aim at the BMW X3 and Audi Q5, amongst others. This will slightly grow in size compared to the current model, in order to make room for its smaller brother, the compact GLA, and it is also expected to give birth to a “coupe” variant, which will be rivaling the BMW X4, but this won’t happen earlier than next year.
The new teaser video is showing its off-road abilities and if it turns out to be that good in “muddy situations”, than it has a huge advantage over its competitors. In terms of design, this will be getting a completely new look which will resemble the GLE more than the old GLK and the clip is showing us the chromed exhaust finishers, the graphics for the lighting units, the infotainment system and the various off-road “goodies”. As far as the engine lineup goes, along with the transmission options, this will be borrowed from the one of the new C-Class generation because, let’s not forget, the mid-sized crossover is based on the popular car. Expect the AIR BODY Control, the 4MATIC AWD and the DYNAMIC SELECT, amongst others. Rumor has it that the range-topping AMG model will be making use of the 4.0l twin turbo V8 unit, from the C63 AMG and from the AMG GT sports car.
