December is a gem of a month – you get to celebrate Christmas, the passing of a yet another year and if you live in certain parts of the world get to pass it all while playing in the snow.
But that latter treat comes with some special needs when it comes to transportation – your car should be ready and able to tackle severe weather conditions. This means automakers are not only feeling jolly but also concerned for the well-being of their customers (after all, happy and safe clients deliver fat paychecks at the end of the fiscal exercise) – this is why all sorts of campaigns sprout on TV, radio and print. And while all issues should be dealt with carefully, it actually boils down to a few basic issues when the tough get going – eg. heavy rain or snow.
Mercedes-Benz, the third largest luxury automaker in the world (and the most successful this year of the regular bunch) has decided to take the idea and toy around with it: the result is a pretty heartfelt story about a kid trying to see the New Year’s Eve fireworks. And instead of talking about this winter tire or that cold motor oil, he took his father into a seemingly basic C Class sedan that has pretty outstanding wipers. It’s a pretty obvious idea – inside the house you don’t get such amenities – which in turn can save your life on the road. Namely there are many other issues at stake to consider during the cold winter season, but we should appreciate simple things and be “merry”, in time for Christmas.
