For the first time we have found some info and even a video depicting an early prototype of the future Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG extra-long wheelbase model.
The very roomy model was previously caught by the praying cameras of spies in the S600 version, but now the stretched S-Class draws near to its unveiling and we get first glimpses of the very enticing S65 AMG.
While the long wheelbase S-Class is already huge – at 5246 mm in length, this Maybach derivative could be around 200 mm longer and is set to keep the 2+2 seating configuration. After the outing of this bigger brother, an even bigger sibling is set to appear – in the usual Pullman configuration that has a 2+2+2 cabin arrangement. No info on the powertrains there and if a similar S 65 AMG variant would become available.
Back to the spied S 65 AMG, this version is very likely to receive the Maybach moniker, after Mercedes-Benz killed (again) the brand last year. The new version will carry over the powerful V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo from the standard model – which means under the hood will beat a massive 630 hp (463 kW) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) heart.
