Mercedes-Benz has released a new promotional video with the newly unveiled S500 Plug-in Hybrid.
The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz is placing the new S500 Plug-in Hybrid into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of a new promotional video. The clip posted below is highlighting some of the features of the frugal flagship sedan and it’s comparing them to the ones of a modern Formula One car, such as the regenerative braking system. At the end of the video we can see Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg behind the wheel of the model mentioned above.
The Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid is powered by a new twin turbo 3.0 liter V6 engine, which is backed up by an electric motor, providing an extra 107 HP (80 kW). The total output produced by the powertrain stands at 435 HP (325 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint now takes 5.2 seconds and the average fuel consumption is indicating a whopping 2.8 liters / 100 km (100.8 mpg UK / 84 mpg US). The vehicle will go on sale this September and its pricing list will be announced shortly.
