The Mercedes-Benz SLC is returning to our attention with the help of a spy video.
Mercedes-Benz is continuing the testing of the “new” SLC. The model in question is a facelifted version of the SLK and it is expected to be unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in mid-September. The prototype shown in the video posted below is wearing some mild camouflage on its front and rear fascias and this is suggesting some modifications made to the front bumper, redesigned headlights, a slightly updated front grille, a new rear bumper and probably some tweaked taillights. The bi-xenon headlights are expected to be dropped and replaced by the LED clusters which will also incorporate the LED daytime running lights.
Some new body paints are also expected to be added to the lineup, along with some tweaks made to the cabin and some fresh alloy wheel designs. The SLC 450 AMG Sport will be added to the lineup. This will get a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 engine, rated at 367 HP (270 kW) and 517 Nm (382 lb-ft) of torque, connected to an updated 7-speed automatic transmission. A more aggressive body will be introduced too, along with larger alloy wheels and beefier brakes for this version. Rumor has it that the order books of the roadster should open in December, after the model will be officially unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Additional details on it are limited at this point and will be announced during the German automotive event.
