The all-new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive has been recently taken for a spin on the Ascari circuit and what came up can be seen in the video posted below.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is the most powerful production car that Mercedes-Benz has ever launched and even if there is twice more expensive than the V8 petrol version, millionaires are interested in it. The SLS AMG Electric Drive might just be the very first electric car which people can dream owning. The model has been officially presented to the public last week, during the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and it will go on sale in Germany in 2013 for a price set at 416,500 euros.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is coming with four synchronous electric motors, each of them powering a wheel, and the total output developed is 740 HP (551 kW) and 999 Nm of torque (738 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration is done in just 3.9 seconds and the supercar can reach a top speed of 249 km/h (155 mph). Two independent transmissions have been fitted to the model that provide direct drive to each axle and the AMG Torque Dynamics system is able to provide selective drive to individual wheels depending on the type of traction available, in three different modes: comfort, sport and sport plus.
