Chris Harris has recently went for a spin in the impressive Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive.
The most expensive car ever to be sold by Mercedes-Benz, the SLS AMG Electric Drive, which has been priced from 416,500 euros in Germany, has been recently tested by Chris Harris. The model is has two independent transmissions that provide direct drive to each axle, and the AMG Torque Dynamics system is able to provide selective drive to individual wheels, depending on the type of traction available in three different modes, comfort, sport and sport plus.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is powered by four synchronous electric motors, each of them powering a wheel, and producing a total output of 740 HP (551 kW) and 999 Nm of torque (738 lb-ft). The supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 249 km/h (155 mph). The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is twice as expensive as the V8 petrol version but, even so, millionaires are interested in it. The model has been officially presented to the public, in a premiere, during the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
