Alongside Volkswagen – who is bringing an electric concept as revolutionary as the Beetle, as per the company claims – Mercedes-Benz is also ready for a major change of pace.
The Paris Motor Show is on our doorstep and the City of Light is most likely going to be remembered for kicking off the electric revolution at both Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz. The latter will host a special model at this year’s event – with media rumors going for an electric crossover concept. Mercedes recently released a teaser that corroborates the idea of a crossover with electric power. The big front end the short image of the wheels suggesting a bigger ride height are big hints that we’re dealing with a crossover rather than a sedan.
In the short footage we see a massive grille and the entire face seems to be lit – with blue lights for extra color. In the cabin we noticed panoramic roof panels and the latest upgrade to the Mercedes infotainment system arrangement which now has numerous capacitive controls. Mercedes wants to introduce at least six EVs between 2018 and 2024 in corroboration with a new sub-brand, designed to take on Tesla and BMW’s i. The Paris show will also host the introduction of the VW electric concept – but also of the Opel Ampera-e, the production version of the electric Chevrolet Bolt with European specific.
