We’ve seen the official gallery with the E Class and we’ve also seen the exterior as the automaker has decided the spy photographers need a gorgeous day as it decided to skip using camouflage.
But the marketing department needs to earn is pay and so the carmaker has delivered a new video teaser of the all new generation of the E Class (W213) executive sedan – which is set to debut next week during the 2016 North American International Auto Show taking place in Detroit (January 11-24). We know the model will arrive in showrooms across the world later this year – in the US as a 2017 model year – and that it has been developed for the past four years and it would sport the very best of what Mercedes-Benz currently has to offer, trumping even the bigger S Class brother. So, we know much about the advanced autonomous features (complete with lane changing) or about the new, intelligent LED headlights. The latter make use of the “Multibeam LED” headlight tech – each of the latter have 84 individually-controlled LEDs.
We’ve also been tipped to the automaker premiering a new range of engines on the E Class, though we should expect representatives of the older guard to make an appearance before they are all phased out. Have a look at the teaser video after the break and expect full coverage of the model and all NAIAS novelties next week.
