The GLA compact crossover, in its range-topping GLA 45 AMG version, has proven to be faster in a drag race than the much more expensive S65 AMG.
If you are looking towards adding the Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG to your garage but you are concerned that this might not actually be that powerful, think again, because this video will most likely change your point of view. The clip is showing a drag race between the range-topping compact crossover and a more expensive S65 AMG. The GLA is incredibly fast and it managed to beat the time of the S65 AMG.
Surely the drivers might have played a critical role here because on paper, the two-door luxury cruiser is significantly faster than the compact crossover. The model is packing a 6.0 liter V12 engine, capable of putting down no less than 621 HP (463 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque, available between 2,300 rpm and 4,300 rpm. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration takes just 4.1 seconds and top speed has been electronically limited to 300 km/h (186 mph). The GLA 45 AMG has a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 360 HP (265 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque. It can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 4.8 seconds and it has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
