The Mercedes-Maybach has a tough job, that of going up against models such as the Bentley Flying Spur and the Rolls-Royce Phantom. The vehicle has a similar design to the new generation of the S-Class, but it has grown by 200 mm in size, to a total of 5,453 mm. The wheelbase stands at 3,365 mm, as the company is saying. The new Maybach will be offered in the S600 version, at first, which is getting a 6.0 liter V12 twin turbo engine under its hood, producing 530 HP (390 kW) and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) of torque.
There will also be two other versions available, the S500, with its 4.7 liter V8 biturbo, producing 455 HP (335 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, and an S400 4MATIC, with a 3.0 liter V6 engine under its hood, rated at 333 HP (245 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has been officially presented to the public in late 2014, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and it was also brought to Guangzhou, a week later.
