[VIDEO] MG3 and Ford Tourneo Courier get tested by Euro NCAP
Euro NCAP has recently published the safety scores of the MG3 and the Ford Tourneo Courier, which have been crash tested.
The Ford Tourneo Courier couldn’t manage to achieve a total of 5 stars from Euro NCAP as the model in question has scored 4 stars. It has an 84 percent protection in Adult Occupant, 84 percent in Child Occupant, 74 percent in the Pedestrian Safety and 56 percent in the Safety Assist category. No “poor” protection was seen in the crash test but this wasn’t enough to allow it a maximum 5-star safety rating. The tested vehicle was a Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 diesel Trend.
If the model mentioned above has scored a 4-star safety rating, things didn’t look so good for the MG3, which has a total of 3 stars. The vehicle scored 69 percent in Adult Occupant protection, 71 percent in Child Occupant, 59 percent in Pedestrian Safety and just 38 percent in the Safety Assist, proving that a car needs to be modern in order to be considered safe. The lack of the Speed Assistance systems, of the Lane Support systems and the AEB Interurban systems played a key role in the its overall score. The tested car was an MG3 1.5 VTi-TECH 3Form Sport.
The streaming video rearview technology will expand the driver’s vision in the upcoming 2016 CT6, eliminating any rear seat, rear pillar or passenger obstructions. It will also get rid of the traditional blind spots and any other impediments of the lanes view.
