Mitsubishi Thailand has released a new teaser video with the upcoming Pajero Sport.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, or the Challenger as it will also be known, is being highlighted once again, this time with the help of a new teaser video. This is following the leaked patent images and the previous teaser image and it is slightly revealing its design. The model in question seems to have a more upscale front end, inspired by the Outlander, along with a distinctive rear end, which seems pretty similar to the one of the GR-HEV Concept. The vehicle will be introduced on the 1st of August, at the 2015 Bangkok International Grand Motor Sale, in Thailand, and it will be offered to its future customers before the end of the year.
Mitsubishi will be making use of the same platform found on the L200 / Triton for the development of the new Pajero Sport. The vehicle is also believed to offer the same engine lineup but the units will be slightly different depending on which market the SUV is aimed for. Expect the 128 HP and 240 Nm of torque 2.5 liter turbo diesel under its hood, along with a more powerful version, producing 178 HP and 400 Nm of torque. The petrol engine lineup will include a 2.4 liter unit generating 128 HP and 194 Nm of torque. Rumor has it that a 2.4 liter turbo diesel will also be offered, in two outputs, with either 154 HP & 380 Nm of torque or 181 HP & 430 Nm of torque.
