The Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster – we didn’t need to repeat its name, but we did because it sounds sexy – is going to present you with a beautiful score that needs no presentation.
Just watch and relax. After you read these lines because we still need to justify our pay check at the end of the month. But one of the perks of being an automotive journalist is you can indulge in car porn at the office and the bosses will even commend you for it. So, here we have a YouTube find that depicts the mighty Raging Bull playing with itself on a b-road – delivering in the process a great V12 soundtrack. What we have here is a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, with the Aventador SV Roadster (there, we said the name again) delivering 750PS (740hp) and 690Nm (509lb ft) of torque – and one of the most menacing engine music on the planet.
The SV in its open top form tips the scales at just 1,575 kg (3,472 lbs), meaning it has lost some 50 kg (110 lbs) compared to the regular Roadster – thus sporting the impressive power-to-weight ratio of just 2.1kg/hp. The regular sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) is done in a mere 2.9 seconds, with the flat out maximum speed at 217mph (350km/h). This is a regular “widow maker” if you don’t treat it right – but head out to the Nurburgring and if you have the skills you may even try to come close to the under 7 minutes lap – though you would also have to be part of the only 500 mortals to own one to begin with.
P.S. We’re pretty sure no one minds the company, as well.
