The automaker’s successful superimini is up for a complete makeover at the Paris Motor Show, as the brand has decided to tease the model under the “a revolution is coming” tagline.
The rumor mill has been indicating for some time the new Micra will be adopting a revolutionary design – inspired by the Sway concept presented in 2015. And the teaser video supports that idea – we catch a glimpse of the front nose packing a prominent version of Nissan’s V Motion grille, with the top portions flowing to a sharp crease on the hood. The edgy design is supported by the sharp, angular headlights – while at the back we can see the taillights designed in a 3D manner, sticking out of the body, while there’s also an integrated rear spoiler in the roof.
No details have been released concerning the interior so far, but we can again take the Sway as an indicator of the design to come. Nissan executives have also tipped more upscale materials in a bid to attract a larger customer base, though we’re betting the concept’s more sci-fi features will be discarded. The new Micra is apparently using the Renault Nissan CMF B architecture, and the French partner will produce the vehicle at its Flins facility for the European market.
