The guys from Xcar have recently went for a spin in the Audi RS3 Sportback and the review is finding the model to be quite a “hyper hatch”.
We are remembering the days when a hot hatch was in the 200 HP zone but now everything has changed considering the fact that we have models like the Volkswagen Golf GTI or the Ford Focus ST, but also the Volkswagen Golf R or the Ford Focus RS. We also have the premium hot hatches like the BMW M135i, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG and, of course, the Audi RS3 Sportback, which are clearly in the second category and referred to as “hyper hatches” by Xcar.
The Audi RS3 Sportback is coming with an aggressive and aerodynamic body kit which is helping the model differentiate from the standard car. This is also getting the sport tuned suspension system, the flat bottom steering wheel, the high performance brakes, carbon fiber trim in the cabin, contrast stitching on the Nappa leather sport seats and so on. Power to it is being provided by a 2.5 liter five-cylinder petrol burner, which is capable of sending a total of 367 HP (270 kW) and 465 Nm (342 lb-ft) to the Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed S tronic transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the hot hatch needs just 4.3 seconds and top speed has been electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) but it can be raised to 280 km/h (174 mph).
