The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been recently spied while it was being tested on public roads.
The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz is currently testing its new C-Class generation in order to make sure that everything is in its right place and working just like it should, before the model will hit showrooms sometimes next year. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will ride on the MRA platform and its length will grow by 100 mm to a total of 4,700 mm, while its wheelbase will be 80 mm longer. The vehicle should weight approximately 70 kg (154 lbs) less than the current model, to a total of 1,380 kg (3,042 lbs), while its trunk capacity will stand at 500 liters (17.6 cubic feet).
As for the engine lineup, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class should get a wide variety of four-cylinder and V6 units, like the 153 HP (114 kW) 1.6L, the 181 HP (135 kW) 2.0L, the 208 HP (155 kW) 2.0L or the 248 HP (185 kW) 2.0L. As for the diesel part, this will probably include a 2.2: four-cylinder CDI unit, which should get 168 HP (125 kW), 201 HP (150 kW) and 228 HP (170 kW), depending on the version chosen. There will also be a 328 HP (245 kW) 3.0L V6 and a 4.0L V8 with 456 HP (340 kW) in the AMG version.
