The brand new midsize SUV, the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, has recently earned the Top Safety Pick + status from the IIHS.
The safety specialists from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) have recently awarded the new generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander with the Top Safety Pick +, after the model has been crash tested. The new Outlander generation is now joining an exclusive SUV club where models like the Volvo XC60, the Subaru Outback or the Subaru Forester have already been named a Top Safety Pick. The new Outlander scored Good on the roof strength test, compared to the previous generation which was “Average”.
An important role in the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander being named a Top Safety Pick + by IIHS also played its safety systems. The model in question is being offered, in higher trim levels, with the Forward Collision Mitigation, with the Lane Departure Warning and with many more systems which should make your life easier and safer. The award is expected to make the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander more popular with customers looking for a midsize SUV and this should be reflected into the next year’s sales reports.
