Another review of the new Honda Civic Type R has been released and it has been signed, this time, by the Brits from XCAR.
After being officially unveiled earlier this year, the new generation of the Honda Civic Type R is being highlighted once again these days, this time with the help of yet another review video. The clip posted below has been signed by the Brits from XCAR and the main question is whether this is really good enough for a day to day drive. Well, it may have just a little too much power for your daily commute, but it still remains one impressive ride.
Honda has pulled the wraps off the new Civic Type R back in March, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere. The model in question is getting the 350 mm drilled discs at the front with four-piston calipers made by Brembo, the Four-wheel Adaptive Damper System, Advanced Dual Axis Strut Front Suspension and a retuned steering system, amongst others. The vehicle has two trim levels and customers can choose between five exterior colors, including the Brilliant Sporty Blue, the Crystal Black, the Championship White, Polished Metal and Milano Red. Power to the hot hatch is being provided by the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, rated at 310 HP (228 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. From 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph), this needs 5.7s and top speed is 270 km/h (167 mph).
