The Japanese automaker has released its latest technology and while we’re usually expecting to see it out new models, this time around Lexus was all about body huggin’.
That’s because the luxury arm of Toyota has announced the introduction of the proprietary V-LCRO seating technology which has been developed and designed specifically to better link up the driver and the vehicle. The V-LCRO driver’s seat s offered as an optional extra and through its proprietary technology it will better hold the driver in position even when performing the most extreme maneuvers. Lexus claims the seat can hold drivers in place even when reaching up to 3.0 Gs – meaning the drivers will take turns more aggressively and easily. The V-LCRO driver’s seat sounds exactly like the well known Velcro material simply because it has been jointly researched and developed with Velcro Companies, and is clad in leather upholstery and Velcro inserts on the bottom and backrest.
There’s a catch though, because those 3.0 Gs can only be pulled if the driver wears a specially designed suit which has a Velcro back. This may not sound too fashionable but Lexus has the styling bit covered as well because they have also partnered up with some designers that will take charge of preparing a series of bespoke suits that will seemingly blend fashion and practicality. The driver’s seat will be available in the GS F and RC F – both sharing a naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine churning out 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque.
