Volkswagen has recently released a video with the brand new Golf R on the track, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, on the 10th of September.
The German based automaker Volkswagen is bringing the new generation of the Golf R into the spotlights once again, after it has been officially unveiled just a few days ago, this time with the help of a new video, which is showing Ogier taking the hot hatch for a spin on the track. The brand new 2014 Volkswagen Golf R is coming with an aggressive body kit, with new side skirts, a rear diffuser, LED daytime running lights, bi-xenon headlights, four-tailpipe exhaust system and more. Power to the model is being provided by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit, which is good for 300 HP 221 kW) and 380 Nm of torque (280 lb-ft), 30 HP (22 kW) and 30 Nm of torque (22 lb-ft) more. These are being sent to the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 5.1 seconds with the six-speed manual and 4.9 seconds with the six-speed DSG. Prices for the model in Germany stand at 38,325 EUR.
