The new generation of the Volkswagen Golf R has been recently spied on the Nurburgring, where it was being tested.
The brand new Volkswagen Golf R is getting closer and closer to arriving in showrooms near you, but before this will happen, the carmaker has to make sure that everything is working just like it should, and for that, the model is being tested as often as possible. The newest testing session, where the VW Golf 7 R was caught on camera, was just a few days ago, when the model was spied on the Nurburgring.
The new VW Golf R looks more aggressive than the standard model and it’ coming with prominent air intakes, a new front fascia, a new rear bumper, a tailgate mounted spoiler and a four-tailpipe exhaust system, along with others. The model is also getting a bespoke ESC and a limited slip differential. Power is expected to come from a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will produce at least 286 HP (213 kW) and 379 Nm of torque (280 lb-ft). The unit will be mated to a dual-clutch transmission which will send power to the Haldex all-wheel drive system. The new Golf R will probably accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 5 seconds.
