The future generation of the Audi A4 has been recently spied while it was being tested out on the famous German track, the Nurburgring.
In case you were wondering what is happening to the Audi A4, after the new BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class generations being unveiled, don’t worry, because their main rival is in to get a new generation too, which is currently in development. Don’t be fooled by the body of the current generation wore by this model because this is a simple test mule and this is also a good strategy used by the company instead of the heavy camouflage, which is attracting all the eyes onto it.
Rumors are saying that the new generation of the Audi A4 will be coming with the cylinder deactivation technology, on the 1.4 liter TSI unit, which will shut down two cylinders during the low and medium loads, helping the fuel consumption cut down. The two extra cylinders can be activated / deactivated in just 36 milliseconds. The 2016 Audi A4 will also get a plug-in hybrid version too, with a 2.0 liter TFSI, producing 211 HP (157 kW) and a 95 HP (71 kW) electric motor. This version will be able to offer and all-electric range of 50 km (31 miles).
