Nissan has set a new record for “the fastest mile travelled on two wheels in a four-wheeled vehicle” during the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
With stuntman Terry Grant behind the wheel, the Nissan Juke NISMO RS has set a new world record for a four-wheeled vehicle traveling the fastest mile on only two wheels. The task has been completed in just 2 minutes and 10 seconds and this has been made during the first attempt. The previous record, set at 2 minutes and 55 seconds back in 2011, was simply shattered.
“I was shocked at how much faster the JUKE NISMO RS was, and to take 45 seconds off what was already a quick time, was unbelievable. To break it by so much on my first attempt was a great way to kick off the weekend, and I’m looking forward to seeing if I can go faster”, said Terry Grant.
The Nissan Juke NISMO RS has been introduced in its updated version last year. The model in question is coming with Xtronic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and with Torque Vectoring System as standard. The Nissan Around View Monitor has been also added to it, along with the xenon headlights and the REcaro seats. Power is being provided by a 1.6L DIG-T turbocharged gasoline engine, with 218 HP (160 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) of torque. The AWD variant starts from 30,500 EUR and the FWD is 3,000 EUR cheaper.
