Last December we saw the apparition of the first ever Star Wars spin off movie – Rogue One – and we also remember Nissan took the opportunity to link its Rogue crossover to the franchise with a special series.
Now as we patiently wait for the arrival of the next classic Star Wars Episode – VIII The last Jedi – where we’re hopefully going to see more of Luke Skywalker than in the Force Awakens, we can embark on a Nissan adventure. Their latest sponsored content is a new virtual reality video called Battle Test: A Nissan Rogue 360-Degree VR Experience. The experience is free as a download on appropriate devices such as Oculus, Steam, Samsung VR, Discovery VR, Jaunt, Daydream, and Littlstar.
This is an interactive mini-movie in its own right – Nissan worked with Lucasfilm Ltd., Industrial Light and Magic, and Skywalker Sound to make it real, and it’s appropriately awesome. And it was actually filmed last year during the filming of Nissan’s “Battle Tested” commercial, only that you can look in all directions to see explosions, ships, and an AT-ST exploding above the Rogue while immersed in the battlefield. Nissan is actually advertising Rogue’s safety systems – Blind Spot Warning, Forward Emergency Braking, and others.
