[Video] Oldish BMW 330d now packs a larger than life punch thanks to BBM Motorsport image

BBM Motorsport has decided that a tuning package is in order for the BMW 330d Touring LCI (E91) and decided to make it comprehensive so they threw in the M550d engine.

The model has been retitled as the “350D 3T” in order to give a subtle measure of what’s in store from the new heart. That is a tri-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine coming from the likes of the M550d and the X5 & X6 M50d couple where it boasts no less than 381 PS (280 kW) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft). But for BBM even that wasn’t enough so they packed no less than 440 PS (323 kW) and 850 Nm (628 lb-ft). With so much diesel heft under the hood we’re wondering why did they bother using normal wheels – they could have used special train wheels and start pulling carts to make an honest living. No matter, the road warrior now takes the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in just 4.9 seconds – 1.2 seconds faster than in its normal 330d guise. More impressive is the jump in performance for the 62-120 mph (100-200 km/h) stage which is done in 9.8 seconds – an impressive improvement of 7.5 seconds. The maximum speed has also received an upgrade form the regular 155 mph (250 km/h) to 184 mph (296 km/h).

The 350D 3T also boasts StopTech brakes and front & rear axles taken from the M3 E92 and sits on 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tire. Other changes include a custom exhaust with active sound system, the blue metallic body hue and inside the cabin we find Recaro seats, M3 E92-sourced speedometer and a BMW Performance steering wheel clad in Alcantara.
