The new generation of the Opel Astra OPC has been once again highlighted with the manufacturer launching the first video with the model.
After being officially presented to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and making its track debut right after that in a footage, the new generation of the Opel Astra OPC is once again placed into the spotlights, this time with a first video which can be actually called a promo, proving that the model still has what it takes to re-enter the hot hatch segment which has been dominated by Renault and Ford in the last few years.
Judging by its incredible output generated by its engine and its impressive exterior design, the all-new Opel Astra OPC will most likely battle with its rivals on the same level, except for the front-wheel drive, which the car manufacturer has no intention of turning into a four-wheel drive.
Under the hood, the 2013 Opel Astra OPC gets its power from a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, which is producing a total output of 280 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 400 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The new Opel Astra OPC is using a HiPerStrut suspension on the front wheels and the FlexRide chassis isn’t being left aside just yet. The model is coming with three driving modes, Normal, Sport and OPC, with the last one being orientated at driving on the track.
