[Video] Opel Calendar features the Grumpy Cat image

There’s a supermodel and an Internet-famous feline involved in the shoot for the German automaker’s 2017 calendar – which is at least odd. But anyways, at least this behind-the-scenes video paints the bright picture of a fun photo session.

Opel decided that for its 2017 calendar it should combine the brand’s classic vehicles, model Georgia May Jagger, and Internet icon Grumpy Cat for a series of seasonally themed photos. We’re not going to question the reasoning behind that – and we’ll just treat them like being crazy off the hook. But the automaker is very much proud of the end product – so much that it’s putting up for sale a limited edition of the calendar starting mid-November for 29.95 euros. They are also promoting it with a behind-the-scenes video of the quirky photo shoot. The best part is they decided to have some fun and caption what Grumpy Cat is thinking at the time.

Let’s take Jagger and Grumpy Cat out of the spotlight for a moment, and look at the roster of Opel cars. There’s a gold-plated 1956 Kapitan, the Astra, Mokka X, and Ampera-e as well as the interesting GT Concept. More importantly, there’s even the curtain pull of a headlight and grille of the next-generation Insignia, which is not coming officially to the public until the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017.
