The French based automaker Peugeot has recently released the first official promo with the 208 GTI in which the model is being compared to the original 205 GTI.
The Peugeot 208 GTI has already been priced in several markets across the Old Continent, where the model is available from approximately 25,690 euros. The new French hot hatch has lost 165 kg (363 pounds) compared to the regular version of the 208 and it’s powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, which is producing a total output of 197 HP, with a peak torque of 203 lb-ft. The unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which is helping the model accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds.
The Peugeot 208 GTI has received a firmer steering system, an anti-roll bar and a different suspension. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced in Q3, when the 208 GTI will make its way onto the market in Europe. As a quick reminder, the Peugeot 208 GTI has been officially presented to the public in its production version in September 2012, during the Paris Motor Show. The concept has been unveiled in March 2012, in Geneva.
