The French based automaker Peugeot is planning to launch its new 208 model, the successor of the 207, on November 2, and a first glimpse of the hatchback can be seen in the video released by the manufacturer.
According to Peugeot, the new generation of the 208 hatchback will make its way into the market starting from November 2, this year, when the vehicle will be officially launched on the web, BMW-stlye.
The 208 is expected to carry a front grille similar to the one found on the larger 508, along with an interesting new generation of three-cylinder turbo diesel engines which will be fitted with the start – stop technology for a better fuel consumption.
The future Peugeot 208 is expected to feature a high-performance version in the form of the GTI, with the French automaker trying to revive the popular hatchback from the 80s and 90s, which might be sold in France under the RC name.
Sadly this is all we know for now about the Peugeot 208 and more details will be announced on the 2nd of November, 2011, when the new hatchback will be officially launched on the web.
As a reminder, the 208 will replace the current 207 which has been made since 2006 in France, Spain, Slovakia, Indonesia and Malaysia, offered in five versions: 3-door hatchback, 5-door hatchback, 2-door coupe, 5-door station wagon and 4-door sedan.
