Peugeot has officially released yet another teaser video with the upcoming 308 GTI hot hatch.
The French based automaker Peugeot is planning to release a new range-topping version of the award-winning 308, in the shape of the 308 GTI, which will be nothing more than yet another compact hot hatch. The model in question will be taking aim at the Ford Focus ST, at the Renault Megane RS, the Volkswagen Golf GTI or the newer Honda Civic Type R, so competition will be pretty harsh for it.
The new clip with the future Peugeot 308 GTI isn’t revealing anything interesting but the model is more than a week away, until its official unveil, which will be taking place at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed, on the 25th of June. The C-segment hot hatch will be coming with an aerodynamic and a more aggressive body kit than the standard model and this is also expected to get the honeycomb mesh front grille, the red brake calipers, the dual exhaust setup, the bi-color 19-inch alloy wheels with the Michelin tires and some other tweaks which will be putting some distance between it and the regular 308. The interior will not be left unchanged either and here we expect some sports seats, a special upholstery and some other tweaks. Chances are that under its hood the 1.6 liter turbocharged unit from the RCZ R, with its 270 HP (201 kW), will be offered but we cannot be sure at this time. Additional details on the new hot hatch remain unknown at this time.
