The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S cabriolets are the newest versions of Porsche’s 991-generation sports car.
Like the coupe, the 2012 911 Carrera convertible features an aluminum-steel construction with the addition of an all-new convertible top design, which preserves the typically sleek 911 coupe roof-line.
The Carrera Cabriolet’s 3.4-liter engine packs 350 PS (257 kW / 345 bhp) while the Carrera S cabriolet gets a little extra from the 3.8-liter engine with 400 PS (294 kW / 394 bhp).
Porsche says the Carrera cabriolet dispatches with the 0-to-60-mph run in 4.4 seconds and manages a top speed of 177 mph. The Carrera S is factory-rated at 4.1 seconds to 60 mph and a 187-mph top speed.
The 911 Carrera Cabriolet will be launched in Germany on March 3, 2012. The prices for the 911 Carrera Cabriolet start in Germany with 100,532 Euros, the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet starts with 114,931 Euros including value-added tax in both cases.
