The brand new Porsche 911 Turbo S has been recently placed against the McLaren MP4-12C in a drag race organized by the guys at Autocar.
The McLaren MP4-12C is considered to be a supercar, with a rear-mid engine and rear-wheel drive layout, the rival of the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Lamborghini Aventador, amongst others, while the new Porsche 911 Turbo S is still considered to stand in the sports car category by many, so a drag race between the two vehicles is obviously interesting. The result of the drag race is very surprising but rather than being spoilers, we will let you scroll down and click play, to see for yourselves.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered by a 3.8 liter turbocharged engine, with direct injection, which is producing a total output of 520 HP (383 kW). The 0 to 62 mph sprint in the new 911 Turbo S is done in just 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 198 mph. The McLaren MP4-12C on the other hand can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds, or 3.1 seconds with the Corsa tire option. The supercar can do a quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 134 mph.
